Its been a long time since i got on the torch but somethings have changed for the better and has given me back all of my lost inspiration and far better understanding. Here are some of the results from that.

if you're thinking of upgrading to redmax, i have the conversion kit i'm not using, can do $175 shipped.

i actually went back to the midrange burner after using the redmax for a month or so. for me, the mid suites me better. the redmax might be better for you if you're doing lots of vases and goblets.

Thanks their pretty good sized though for the midrange. It took. Me 6 months of failing to get those upside down water drop vases their shape is insane to get. I did a victory dance when i got it. All i can say is for help is take your time its all in the heat control.

OK - James, you inspired me to keep trying... And thanks for the tip. Every bit helps.

Marcel, OMG! You are so freakin' creative with those marbles! Now those are ORIGINAL! At least I sure haven't see that before. I've looked at my Dremel a hundred times and thought "one of these days I'm gonna try carving something into my glass...", but never did. Would never have done anything that awesome anyway.

I did a small Schnapps glass today, wonky as usual but I wanted to try my new kiln out.

The blown work shown this month is great thanks for sharing James and Adam. Glad to hear you are getting more control James.
Here is something new I have been working on. It measures 1.9 inches I shared it in the marble room but I had to show it here too.

Nice work everyone!
I especially like the face marbles.

Onekura- I'm curious (if you're willing to describe) how you applied the fuming so the shade goes blue->green->yellow->red like that? I've gotten all those hues individually, but I've never seen them done together on one piece in such a controlled and uniform way. Amazing.

just fume one side with gold and the other with silver. The overlap will mix the colors.

Ok, thanks for the explanation! You make it look almost easy, but I don't think it really is. I've found it especially difficult to get that deep blue out of silver. "Less is more" is easier said than done.

I never got a good blue out of Schott-Glass. Then I changed to Simax and it worked. I usually fume too much silver as well, but I burn it off until I see the right color. After fuming I hold it under a strong light and check the color. If I see a blue hue its good, if not I burn some off with a slightly oxydising flame - works for me . . .

Onekura ... thanks so much for the explanation. I've always wondered but was too chicken to ask.

Your fumes are drop dead gorgeous.
