Is it stringer, or complex stringer coiled in a tight spiral on the bead? I usually think Victorian when I see these on beads.

might try this
I have Corina's book and I think what you are talking about is in there.
Try this:
Take a white rod and cover about 1" of the end of the white rod with a transparent glass. Making sure that the 1" is completely covered.
Now make sure you completely melt it into one melted glob.
Next you will take a pair of pliers and pull a stringer. It all depends on how fat you want it.
Once cooled you can now make your spiral flowers.
Hope this helps. Someone else may have different or better directions.

Here is an example of Heather's roses. I just love these. Any ideas how to make them?

When I make those I make a center dot then 5 smaller dots around it.
heat the dots enough to melt them down a bit but not until they are flush with the surface. While the dots are still soft I use a stringer place it on the middle dot and twist.
Viola!
Hope this makes sense

If anyone is a member of THe Bead Hive on ebay, Heather has a tutorial of her roses on it...maybe they could give you a link to it....
Good luck,
Lynn

Thanks for the replies...
Karen, I tried your instructions (making the center dot with the smaller dots surrounding) and that seemed to work. I am going to practice now! Thanks
