Thanks guys! The first one I made had too much glass so it squished out over the sides near the hole edges.....

I actually make a round bead and then use my marver to angle the sides similar to the shape of the crystal. Then I press, take it out of the flame and reheat a little, turn the bead over, and press again. After while you will get a feel for how much glass will make a good bead.

Reheat the bead till it's mushy and use the rod to pull some of the glass off. This works better on a solid color or frit bead. Florals, eh, not so well.

I have made a little movie for you with my photocamera. It isn't sharp, but you can see what I do. I will make another movie with another camera.

I use this press by rolling the bead in the press to get sort of a bicone shape. I can then tell if I need to add more glass. Roll again, heat and press.
