Very cool... you make it look easy!
So... how do you make a twistie like this? It looks like a clear core with 2 stripes of goldstone encased in clear and then striped with 6 or 8 very thin stringers of an opaque colour and then pulled out. Is that even close?

My color creation guess on Michael's Latticio Twistie:
1. Solid Opaque Red Core
2. Two opposite stripes of Intense Black atop Red Core
3. Heavy Clear Encasing over Red Core w/Black Stripes
4. Encased Gold Aventurine (two stripes), opposite one another, over the Clear encase.
5. Several thin stripes of Opaque White betwen Gold Aventurine.
6. Melt, twist, pull!!!
Well, am I getting warm?
Here's a neat tutorial just to give the basics on pulling a lolly-pop style twistie from Mona with FlameWerks! Check it out:
http://www.flamewerks.com/tutorials/...p_tutorial.htm
Here's the link for the standard, two color one just for fun:
http://www.flamewerks.com/tutorials/...o_tutorial.htm
Have fun!

Thanks! My skills aren't up to doing this yet but I'm going to keep this recipe and try it when I'm ready.

I am resurrecting all these threads in the tutorial forum on off mandrel rings. Because the process is fundamental. Which makes it key in development of torch made sculptural skills.

That's what I was thinking. Now I want flat mashers, and that other cool looped tweezer type tool. Either way, I never would have guessed how to do that.
Thanks bunches!

Hi Micheal!
I remember you talking about places to get the graphite rods in St. Louis, but can't remember is you said exactly where. Can you refresh my memory and lead me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Thanks so much.
