Default Sabina Boehm in Vancouver, BC

Sabina Boehm will be coming to Andrighetti Glass in Vancouver, BC this fall to teach 2 workshops:

Butterfly / Flower Marbles and Pendants

September 25 & 26
10am – 5pm
Fee: $390. cdn

In this super fun class students will explore several different applications of a well known technique: the compression technique (also known as implosion) used for making flowers and butterflies. Time permitting we will cover some different outside design techniques like pinwheels and fish scales. Advanced/intermediate flameworkers will make the most progress in this class, but it’s open to anyone with basic flameworking knowledge and students will be encouraged to work at their own levels. This class will focus on a fundamental understanding of your flame and core heat. An emphasis on ‘striking’ and getting the most out of your colour will be addressed.

Borosilicate Ornaments and Basic Hollow Techniques

September 27 & 28
10am – 5pm
Fee: $390. cdn

In this two day class students will learn the fundamentals of working hollow glass with the goal of creating beautiful holiday ornaments. We will work with tubing to create really fun hollow fish and with rod to create icicles and snowflakes. We will start with a basic Venetian design and, time permitting, advance to some switched axis techniques on coloured tubing. Students can expect to make progress in the areas of blowing out balls of glass and applying dots and adornments. Students will be encouraged to work at their own level, but a basic knowledge of flameworking is a prerequisite for this class.

Both these classes are intermediate level, but either boro or soft glass experience is fine. You can see Sabina's work at: http://www.glassbysabina.com/

Please phone me at (604) 731-8652 or email me at info@andrighetti.com for more info or to register.

Thanks!
Joanne Andrighetti
