Default acetylene regulator to propane tank

Okay all you brilliant folks, I bought a used torch in the garage sale that came with hoses and a fairly small acetylene regulator. One side of the regulator has a fitting that fits the welding hose just fine, but the female fitting that should connect to the propane is much smaller than the tank connection. Do I need some kind of adaptor, or is it just not possible to use this regulator? Appreciate any help you can give. Does anyone know if this adaptor will work?

Regulator connector you are showing in picture is a external thread "Acme" connector and is acceptable for all propane use.... Other connector is CGA 510 connector which is internal thread and is uses on both propane and acetylene tanks....

Either style connector should be acceptable for propane tank use.... Just change out connector on regulator and you should be good to go....
