Actually, I think the phrase, "Dark Side" refers to the fact
that boro glass is like 10x more expensive than regular glass,
so "the Dark Side" refers to the fact that we can't afford
to both torch AND keep the electric bill paid. Hence, no lights.
Borosilicate is "regular" glass to me. All that 104 stuff is "irregular"...

And, with the new colors everyone is using in 104, borosilicate is actually cheaper.

What we need here is an equal name for 104.

Estroglass is my vote.

The Dish Washing Side, perhaps.

104= poppy glass, explosive glass, shower glass, liquid glass, sneaky glass(sneaks into work space when i am working boro to scare me)

I have given up on the 104 and now only work in 33 but have not cleared the storage bins yet.

Maybe Boro should be called the Hot side or the bright side? as have to crank up my torch to work it, and damn if its not hot. Should wear more skin protection but I don't so have sunburns from long sessions.

104 beads is the only reason there is a gig for 33 beads. I know that's true. No offense intended.

I am pretty sure people would buy borosilicate beads if they were invented last week and no one had ever made a glass bead before.

Because people like pretty beads.

Love the "potential names for 104! I haven't been working boro for very long but I have noticed a big difference in the tenor of threads between soft glass workers and boro workers! Boro peeps just seem to be more like surfers.........more laid back......like.....cool dude!

And hotter too. Don't forget hotter.

And we're more expensive too. Oh sure, there are the FEW 104's that
are good enough to sell for more than 10$ a pound, but you know, short
of clear, ALL boro is more expensive.
