Default Need help w/ photoshop gradient tool

I took photos on gradient paper that I copied and printed from online but the background look is cruddy-I was just fooling around on photoshop elements and saw they have a gradient tool on there...
I was wondering if there is a way to take the photo of my jewelry and basically drop it onto the gradient background? I am no good w/ all the layer stuff if that's what is involved so hopefully someone knows how and what to explain to me-if it's even possible...???
Thanks so much!!!
Amanda

Amanda - probably is a lot more work than you are bargained for. In order to do that, you will have to somehow silhouette your jewelry and perhaps add drop shadow. Some people may do that using the eraser tool but the right way to do it is to use layer mask and clipping paths. Not worth the time and effort, imho.
