Have any of you tried pinching and pulling out leaves and sticking them on a spacer-bead on a mandrel?

I made these up last night for the first time. It takes a kiln or Rod Warmer to keep either the leaf or the spacer bead hot before merging them, but they are fun and quick to make.

Let's each agree to a 25 lb per color limit what do you say?

I'm also interested in their Optic Molds, have any of you tried them?

Ha ha funny. I just emailed Natasha to see if she got a bunch or a little? I told her that there are a group of us who want it and I wanted to be fair, if she has just a little bit.

Good idea, and sweet of you. Hopefully it's a bunch!
I just need some so I can resell it to you when you run out again.

Lisa, I am laughing out loud too. How funny. You forgot to say "to sell at a very high profit" too! Kristina, thank you. So here's my question. Have you guys still hoarded just a little? I am a little embarrassed to say that I have a few rods for "emergencies".

OH! Now I change my mind! (just kidding)... actually I have about 1/2 of a rod that I couldn't bear to use. I guess I wanted to keep it and look at it, and remember when

I sure hope the SOP stays true on a HH. I am still anguishing over the plumbing for my Cricket. This weekend we try again.

lol, I just looked, I thought I only had one or two rods left. I've been playing a lot with boro and some 96 so I haven't checked my 104 stash in a bit.

oh so that's where it all went...Sonja's house! Because I was always sure I had more, but it seemed to disappear. (of course that was nothing to do with all the leaves I made out of it.)

I don't have a chip left. Marcy got it all.
Now let's just hope that the color turned out the SAME this batch as it was last time. Never know, right?

WHILE we are waiting miserably, anticipating Friday's BUY buttons... I thought I would post this strand. It is for a free and simple Tutorial I am working on - to make Frosted (Etched) Encased Beads. I hope to get it done in the next few weeks. They were made using Devardi colors and Devardi Clear, and then etched or frosted with Armour Etch.

Those are pretty Kristina! I do love making etched beads, there are so many ways to change the look. One of these years I am going to play around with etching them but using a resist before I toss them in so the design stands out. With the color in the middle and the clear on the outside I bet that would be pretty cool!

Those are so nice! Love etching too! I do it the lazy way though and throw them in the tumbler. I really need to get out of that habit!

I bet it would be awesome Sonja... like the lapped beads. Please post them when you get them done.

The biggest challenge for me is encasing with the clear without bubbles, and on that front, I just watched the Mr. Smiley 1st Boro DVD, and he was showing how to hold two rods of the same color that had bubbles in them in the flame, and heat and work them into each other making a large center gather that was without air bubbles. Then I guess you flame cut one rod loose and pull thick stringers with no air bubbles.

I haven't tried it yet but I plan to!
