Default CZ's in beads...

Hi everyone,

I attempted my first clear bead with 2mm AAA CZ's. I was successful putting the CZ's in the bead, no problem, but it ended up with a small crack

Are there any tricks to this?

Thanks very much,
Lynn

How thick/thin was the glass you encased it with? If it is encased too thinly, it can crack.

I'm glad that I could be of help. If you have any more questions, just ask - there is no "small, stupid stuff." We were all beginners at some point.

Lyn,

I have been wanting to try that, but wasn't sure about a reputable supplier. Where do you buy your CZs? Have you purchased from that vendor before?

I actually heard of this place from Kim Mile's website, it's where she buys her CZ's. Here's the link: www.pehnec.com

Kim says she usually buys the 2mm grade A CZ's, but I bought the AAA. I got 500 for $24.00...they're just beautiful, small, but beautiful. I'd like to maybe buy a little larger next time, maybe 3mm, but, if I remember correctly, Kim says that the bead cracks with larger than 3mm....read her CZ tutorial on her website....really easy to do and SOOO pretty!!! I just love the look!!!

Good luck! Lynn

I took a class from Kim about three years ago. That's when I learned how to use CZs. Kim is a wonderful teacher (and an all aroung fantastic person). I would recommend one of her classes to anyone.
