Ventilation 'rules of thumb'

Several weeks ago I ran across a thread on ventilation where one of the posters listed several 'rules of thumb' he had derived from experimentation and calculation. I have search high and low for this thread without luck.
Does anyone recall this thread and where it is?

The basics are 125 cfm for each square foot of "face opening" of hood/box/fume cabinet....

Once you find dimensions of face opening then everything else is just doing the math and determining duct size to keep static pressures in desirable range...
