Default Fence railing source for fellow Albertans

I just found a great company here in Edmonton that sells the coveted white fence railing. It's called Advantage Vinyl Fencing, (780)988-7793www.advantagevinylfencing.com

The salesman's name is Ben Beazer. He quoted me at $8.75 per 8' length. They will cut it into pieces for free!!!!!!

I'd tried Totem and Home Depot with no luck, then it dawned on me to try the yellow pages and BAM . . . there they were under fences!

I'm so excited, it's not often we can find stuff up here like this. FINALLY I can organize my glass and get my poor boro and Bullseye out of their boxes.

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends

I wonder if they would ship to NWOntario?

I think I'm going to check out the one 'Feed' shop here... Maybe they have it!

There are Lowes hardware stores in Ontario, you could check there too.

Yes usually I am but last night I actually went to bed before 1030 and stayed there. That is unheard of for me. I PM'd you back.
Thanks Fran

Fantastic - Good find Fran!! Last time I ordered from someone in Florida. Maybe I'll finally get all my Vetrofond, DH and "other" glass put away in an organized fashion! Let's talk about a group order at the Fireflies BBQ?

Oooo, I'm also interested in knowing if they'll ship.

What is the product number, do you know? I need to contact them. I'm in Ontario and would be willing to pay whatever is necessary to get some here (lol, within reason of course)

Avena, it's just called "ranch rail". I don't have a part number for it, but that's what they call it there.

I have another solution some of you might consider. My SIL owns an upholstery shop. I got all of his heavy duty cardboard rods that the fabric is wrapped on from the factory.
I cut these with a chop saw into aapprox. 12" lengths. They work great! I have all my glass in these on a heavy-duty steel shelf. I would think shops would give these away as they have no use for them. He was throwing them away!

I have used vinyl downspout with excellent results. It cuts easily with a small hack saw or similar tool.

Runs about $1.10 a foot. Not sure about a canadian source.

Has anyone actually purchased ranch rail from this supplier? I'm wondering if it will fit in my storage unit which is a shoe rack with cubbies that are 11.5 inches deep. Can you tell me how wide each "plank" is?

If you look for companies that install fencing in your area, you may be able to find one that carries it. You want the rails that go with the the post and rail fencing. Some brands are 1 3/4" by 5 1/2 ", and some are 2" x 6". On Friday I found a supplier that will let us go through the bin where his installer dumps smaller pieces after a job and buy what we find for 16 cents per pound. Once we get what we need I will post the information for people in my area. See these examples:http://http://www.hooverfence.com/vinyl_fence/specs.htm
http://http://www.hooverfence.com/vi.../pr_ribbed.htm
Good luck!
