Default Boro - AFTERDARK! (Mature Content)

Good Evening,

I've been working on a fun new design that is proving rather popular!

Sorry Brent to doing this to your tutorials, but Papa needed some sales.

Here' goes:

I love them, good job on all the fluctuations in shape and the loops look really good. Just curious though, who is buying them? Men or women?

Thanks Everyone! They are a lot of fun.

Of course, the shapes all have to be different and unique because they are in real life and besides, I wouldn't want the pressure of having to do two that are exactly alike. Yuck!

So far, the score is 2 women and 1 man, but I'm just starting to put links out in the web for the shop, so that might change a bit.

Any suggestions on new internet venues?

Thanks Lenora!

That first one is Rod. He's always like that.

As I do each one, I'm getting better at the shaping and positioning. He's the first one that's fully "standing at attention".

I give each one a history on my Etsy listings which are a lot of fun to write. If you want a laugh, check out the Memberz Only link below.

He's Drooling Dennis, and he was the first one I did. Sort of the prototype for all other who would "come" after him.

Thanks!

You know, I've thought of doing that too at some point.

Isn't that funny!

Well, I'm glad you like them. I wasn't sure what the reaction would be.

Thanks,

LOVE them!
Especially the drooling one .
I would suggest some with bigger heads .

As for venues to sell them - being from Hollywood area
I think the gays here would eat them up (metaphorically speaking).
Google some Homosexual-related jewelry links and see
if there are any venues for that. The boys around
here LOVE risque jewelry.

I recommended your etsy shop to a jewelry designer friend of mine!

Karen,

Bigger heads are coming as I continue to morph the designs and try out different techniques. I do have an uncut one with a bit bigger head that will be posted tonight, but it's not quite the way I want it. I'll put up a pic once it's posted.

I'm definitely googling for gay shopping, because I know the boys will like these once they know about them!

Thanks so much,

Lloyd

Hi Lloyd:

There is a huge "chain" sex store over here called Beate Uhse.
http://www.beate-uhse.com/

You should contact them. They have stores all over Germany and an online shop as well.

Here is more info from wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beate_Uhse_AG

Here is a link to the founder's information.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beate_Uhse-Rotermund

We visited their "museum" in Berlin - interesting.
Worth a shot to contact them, I think. You might have more business than you know what to do with!

Good luck,

Hi All,

I'm really busy now. I've sold two more today! Wow, this is great.

A friend of mine wants to help me get into a show in August in "Boys Town". Can I have 300 of these done by then? I don't know, but if it works out, I will certainly try!

I've got more in the kiln, so more pics are coming soon!

So glad you are all enjoying these.

So far, I believe everyone is buying them for themselves, although one customer is considering others as gifts.

Glass is such a great medium, and I'm so glad I switched to BORO!

LOL! I did the upside down heart trick for my entries in the Twig and Berries exchange. Yours are prettier than mine though!! Course I completed the "set" with imploded vaginas.

hmmmmm. sales are good? that is great.
trying to figure out a nice way of putting this.......
sorry dont take this the wrong way.
could I make adult toys, hmm maybe, I guess they sever a purpose. could I see myself selling penis pendants even if sales are good? No. might be fun to create one or two that walked out of the shop, but not sure if I would personally want to make money off such items. I mean I got a penis and I think people would gladly pay me to keep it in my pants. some how I just cant see myself taking pride in making such a product. I love what I do and money isnt part of the working equation, that comes later. but if your into the penis thing then hey guess that is cool?
Ill add that if I had these in my booth for sale, it would appeal to maybe a few, while totally closing down any hopes of sales to the average person.

Murf,

Let's just say that I'm not planning on taking these to just any old art fair. There are some fairs where these would be very popular and others where they would bomb.

Know your audience. As for pride in the creation of them, yes I am quite proud of them. They're very colorful and artistic and no two are alike. It's not like I'm making a bunch of the same flesh-colored items just for the quick buck.

Would you say that Michael Angelo shouldn't be proud of The David?

I'm not saying these are on the same level as that, but you know what I mean. Art doesn't have to appeal to everyone.

Pipyr,

Sorry about your eyes. If you have some girly items, feel free to post them to even things out a bit.
