Beginning Beadmaking
Sat., October 25, 2008 NEW DATE!
10:00 am - 3:30 pm

An extended five-hour workshop where you will learn about the Hot Head torch set-up, safety precautions, and practice many fundamental basic beadmaking skills. We cover shapes such as round, cubed, leaf-shaped, triangle and grooved. We learn to apply different sized dots & stripes and manipulate the hot glass by raking. We also learn to incorporate silver foil, frit and millefiori. Format is half lecture & demonstration, half hands-on. All your tools, glass & fuel are provided for use during class. Lunch Provided. $90 per student


Intermediate Beadmaking Techniques
Saturday, November 1, 2008 (NEW DATE!) NEW DATE!
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

This is a fun class for anyone who has completed a Beginning beadmaking class. Our focus is on learning more nuances of working in and out of the flame so we have just the right heat for the different techniques. We will practice various methods of pulling stringers, making twisties, and trying lots of new decorative techniques and surface applications. Also, we will experiment with gold leaf, and make Floral Plunge Beads! $90 per student, includes lunch.

Brad Pearson- One Day Specialty Class: Under the Sea
Friday, Oct. 10th, 2008
9:30 AM- 4:30 PM

With Brad's excellent guidance, we'll be making a fish sculpture, including base, sea urchins, shells and other sea creatures. Many techniques are explored & revealed in these exercises. This is a great as a stand-alone class or treat your self to all three days! This is a brand new format, but you will definitely find plenty of new twists and variations and all-new material in the 2 day class as well! $195 per student, includes all supplies and lunch. (Save $25 if enrolling in all three days!)

Brad Pearson: Two- Day "Beyond The Basic Bead"
Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 11th & 12th, 2008
9:30 AM- 4:30 PM

Break out of the wound bead on a mandrel! Explore glass beyond the simple round bead! This class is designed to push you to a new level of beadmaking. We will cover dots, masking patterns, heat control, two-part bead construction, and working off- mandrel with stainless steel punties. Learn new ways to think about bead construction and gain control over the glass to create new and exciting works of art. The lessons are suited for a wide variety of skill levels includes all supplies and lunch. ($565 if enrolling in all three days

Tink MartinThree One-Day Classes: November 14-16, 2008
Take them all!! Class Times: 10AM- 6PM daily, includes an hour lunch break, lunch is provided!

Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 Beginning Blown Vessels- Intricate blown soft-glass vessel techniques developed by Tink over the past several years are demonstrated, discussed and practiced. We look at all aspects of the form: heat control, "reading" the glass, handles, glass stoppers and other adornments. Some Flameworking experience is desirable. $195 per student.

Sat., Nov. 15, 2008 Intermediate Blown Vessels– Take your blown vessels to the next level! This class is for those familiar with Tink’s on-mandrel blown vessel techniques who would like to incorporate more complex embellishments and design elements into their works. Picks up where Miniature Blown Vessels leaves off. Covered are fancy lip wraps, fancy stoppers, alternate handle techniques, new body shapes, adding feet and much, much more! This class is a perfect follow-up to Beginning Blown Vessels, and can be taken the day AFTER that class. $195 per student.

Sun., Nov. 16, 2008 Tink's Tips and Tricks - This class is always great fun! We’ve assembled a wonderful collection of things to pique your interest and explore new avenues. Bring two finished beads to prep, one for an Electroforming project and one to Sandblast! Both processes will introduce you to a process & familiarize you with the steps to continue on your own. We’ll explore Venetian glass pen techniques, Image transfer & signing your work with sharpened Titanium. Other topics may include: glass compatibility stringer tests, implosion pendants, using PMC on glass, blowing/using shards and making your own signature cane. Some Flameworking experience is desirable. $225 per student

The dates for the beginning and intermediate beadmaking have been changed! (thanks to Ike!) Please check out the new dates.
