Default R736 multi color dark.

Has anyone used the color R736 multi color dark. oylmpic color rods shows this color a pink purple lavender kind of color, it says it striking, i only get light green or a black looking color. aahh. if i reduce it, it does turn this copper red looking color i have tried the frit and the chunks.

I LOVE it! Let it get hot, take it out of the flame, and then it will be the dark black color, then slowly reintroduce it into the flame (or wave it in and out) and you'll start to see the colors develop. Don't reduce it...Just strike it!

I can get it to strike but when I remove it from the kiln it's navy blue. That's it, just navy blue. What a waste! Someone mentioned a higher kiln temperature but I haven't tried this yet. =/

Encase it while it is dark, then strike it. I use Gaffer clear to encase. It's really pretty.

do you use the chunks pulled into stringer or the frit, and do you have any ideas what to use for the base color? thanks for your help.
