Default Gluing glass onto cork

I made some cool vessels with tops. I want to glue the tops of the vessels onto the cork, but haven't found a glue yet that would hold. Any suggestions. I've tried super glue and safe 2 Bond. I wonder if good old elmers would do the trick.

Try Barge Cement. It's a contact type adhesive and quite strong.

I just poke a hole in the cork, and wire the cork to the top with a heapin. Cork is so soft, I'd think the glue joint might be likely to break.

Thanks Lynda J. I would do that, but I made the top of the beads on the end of a mandrel because I didn't want a hole or wire at the top.

Or you could wire wrap it like she said and attach a small thin chain going from the wired cork to the handle.
I've seen it done lots of times... I think that's what she meant?

anyways, good luck.

If your bead has a 1/2 hole in it you can strengthen the joint by using a short piece of mandrel as a tenon. Glue piece of mandrel into the bead, then drive it into the cork when you glue the glass down. Be sure to get the glue on the mandrel section as it goes into the cork. This will help get past the cork being so soft and breaking off at the joint.

I use Triolyse adhesive to glue silver rivets to glass - perhaps that will work for cork and glass? Do a google search and you will find vendors who sell those. I found it for $14.95 on eBay but there isn't any auction for that at the moment.
