Default really cheap home made presses

Ok this is what I have been using for a while and they seem to work. We are all in the know about paper punches that we also use for silver foil for bead decoration. Well..........the really cheap ones are pretty crappy for cutting after a while so take them apart.

You will find that there is a positive and a negative to the image i.e the bit of metal with the shape on it that pushes down and the hole that the shape pushes through.

I use the bit that pushes down, it is usually cylinder shaped, and voila rest the glass on your chosen surface and push the design down onto it.

I only found this because I am really cheap and didn.t want to throw my rubbish punches away. WELL what do you think?

Crud, I wonder if I finally pitched that box of paper punches I thought I'd never use again. Wonder if it's the same thing. I had waaaay to many in various shapes.

(Hear the shuffling of papers and boxes as I dig to find them? Now you've done it and I'll probably actually have to clean. )

What a fantastic idea! I think I have a spiral one somewhere - hope I didn't give it away. Now I'm going to be looking for a Michael's coupon this weekend so I can buy paper punches to take apart - LOL! Thanks for a great idea!

Those would be particularly good for optic molds. I would think that they could hold up to the heat of the glass.

I'm usually a pretty handy person, but for the life of me, I can't get the little bugger out of the plastic casing! I got the bottom part off, but the rest of it is stubbornly lodged in the other half of the plastic casing! Has anyone else had trouble with removing the press from its case?? Any suggestions other than taking a big hammer to it?

WOW, pretty cool idea, bummer that I just sold all but 3 of them......LOL I had about 35 or so!!
Firebug, use a screw driver in the front part of it. Pry the plastic away from the metal, its little tabs into the plastic. It should then just pop right off.
I have a 1" circle punch....the other two won't work because they are huge and I dont' make huge!! LOL
Thanks Tanok, its a great idea!!! I'm going to try mine tomorrow!!

I did that and loved it! Unfortunately the only punches I own are for Halloween. Doubt I could sell bats and gouls year round.
