Default when a peach isn't a peach..it's a bead

Have been asked by one of the dog clubs about making beads for their show at the National specialty for leashes.

We want them to look like peaches as it's a Georgia club. My thoughts are to find a nice peach colored opaque glass (recommendations welcome) and then use some red enamel to assist with the realistic look.

Does any one know where i can find maybe a how to shape like a peach or color like a peach?

Best color peach 104 COE glass you know of and where to find?

Looking forward to this i think. The order will be for 100 beads.

Thanks in advance
Becky

Whenever I'm presented with something I've never made, I google pics for inspiration.

Hi Shawnette

Yes i did google alot of places. Trying to find s good peach glass and suggestions for getting the red on there.

Like maybe transparent red turned into powder or tiny frit? or any other suggestions.

Being new i haven't used a lot of glasses so not sure what would be a great peach color to use.

Then just cut a little shallow line in the hot glass, from the top to about halfway down to make the peach shape. I would add a leaf, too!

Gosh those beads have perfect dimples! After 9 years of beadmaking, I still can't get mine like that. =)

That's a lovely color! And I'd "blush" a bit of one side with a little sunshine yellow enamel (00 powder) very lightly dusted on then melted in, and add the "cheeks" line as Patti suggests. Maybe etching them to give them the "fuzzy" look too!

DeAnne, do enamels etch? Good to know, I just hadn't considered that but it could come in handy down the road.
