Default Feather tutorial

I had few requests to explain how I made my feather beads. I have gotten so much from this community, I decided that it is time to give little back.

Pia, - terrific explaination - that's exactly how I do it. Try your twisty out of raku with intense black (very fine lines). Apply that to opal yellow or lavender opaque. The effect is similar with the intense black veins of the feather reaching out beyond the feather.

Hades works the same way. I have not tried lavander or OY, thanks for the tip. I love the raku and hades twistie, and EDP in some mixes is really pretty.
And I guess I did forgot to mention that the twisties need to be pretty tight. I guess I should go back to edit it...

Anna, they are pretty! Way to go! As you see, it is very simple technique, and can be applied to almost anywhere. Thank you for sharing your results!

I need to make couple feather beads myself for a custom order.
Just to let you know, these make awesome beads for guys! I have sold several of these, and all of them have been bought either by men, or for them!

Thanks Pia! I've tried doing the piling dot on dot to make a feather murrini and it's too slow for me. This is so great. DH also suggested (which I spotted while making them) that they would make great leaves too. I'm so pleased with this technique.

We do need beads that men like. I get a lot of men looking at my beads but not buying for themselves.

I agree on that one! I just came buy this technique by looking at someones beads, and saw such thin feathers, that I decided that they must have been made with twisties, and sure enough, when I tried, that was exactly how they were done. The beads in the image are the ones I made first. I just didnt have any other images, and I have sold all of them, so I just reused the picture for this purpose. I will post another picture, if my newer ones will look better.

Bethany, please post here your results, would love to see what people come up with!
This is my latest, once again was a custom order. It has 3 different feathers, but just showing one, since it is kinda pain in the rear section to take pictures of them. Excuse the lint!
