Czech Glass ID please: brown-purple-ish
I picked up a variety of unlabelled glass when I was in the Czech Republic.
This one at first looked like a dark brown, but at the ends, I could see a bit of red-purle sparkle.
Well, it is a weird glass, to me anyway. In the rod, it is dark brown. Pulled into a stringer, it is dark fuchsia. Made into an encased bead it is a mix of brown and fuchsia. When reduced, it leaves a silvery shimmer. When I used the stringer on clear and reduced it, it was a mix of silver and light fuchsia. And, when a droplet fell from the stringer, it was almost completely clear.
I have looked at some of the color charts of czech glass,but can not find it. Any thoughts?

Rubinit would be my guess. It is basically a gold ruby glass.

Well, I bought some of my glass in a junk/antique shop, so it could even be from the 1820's..... Any thoughts on how to use it and make the color come out?

I'm not sure but could it be one of their composite rods instead of a regular translucent type?
