Jenny Newtson - September 12 & 13 - Rockville, MD
We're really excited to announce that Jenny Newtson from Trautman Art Glass will be coming to Accents Glassworks to teach next month!
Working the Trautman Reactive 104's
Partly art, partly science. The new silver glass colors are a wonderful addition to the soft-glass palette, but are you getting all you can out of these colors? In this 2 day class, students will get a review of the colors in the TAG 104 line, and learn tips, tricks and techniques to work these colors to their best effects. Students will also learn proper torch settings for reducing and striking them. Jenny Newtson, the 104-coe specialist at Trautman Art Glass, will share good combinations to go with the reactive glasses, and how to get maximum bang for your buck. Beginning/Intermediate level; students will need enough experience on the torch to understand the terminology, such as neutral settings and what she means by ‘candles’ in the torch flame.
For more information, contact Accents Glassworks in Rockville MD, www.accentsglassworks.com, or by phone at 301-770-7666. (You can also send us a PM here on LE!)

Agh Bummer....
I'll be in California teaching at the Mandrel....otherwise I would be checking this class out and hanging with Jenny. She is great fun and I'm sure the skills learned using that fabulous TAG Glass will works for the other exotic silver glasses - they do for me!
I'm sorry Jenny and I are switching coasts at the same time.
This should be a wonderful class.....lots of secrets to learn and share...
wish I could be there,
Lisa

Shoot, Lisa, I was bummed to hear you are out west when I'll be back east! We do seem to meet in the middle a lot. Thank you for letting me know what a lovely studio they have in Rockville, the crew there at Accents sound just fantastic.
Have fun with Donna, we love the Mandrel, too. ;-D

Pssst . . .
there are still a couple of seats available in this class! We're incredibly excited about having Jenny in our studio, and if you've spent any time here on the forum, you know she's not only extremely knowledgeable, but also "good people." So if you're within driving distance of Washington, DC and don't have plans yet for this weekend (or want an excuse to skip out on your weekend plans and do something FUN and glassy!), give us a call!
