Default Caliente Cane

I picked up some in the Garage Sale and was wondering what to do with it. Spacers of course but what else?

Also, there is quite a bit of white and clear. Do I just use that as normal, i.e., encase other 96 coe glass with the clear, use the white as a base for frit and designs?

Any info appreciated!

You can do everything with it. Spacers, focals, sculpture... Whatever you like. It's compatible with other 96COE lines. I have Caliente, Reichenbach, Uroboros, Zimmerman, Kugler & Gaffer and I use them all interchangeably.

I hoard mine....

Just watch with the white and chocolate brown....slow heat or you'll burn out the colour.
I love the metallic reduction colours!

What I have left of Caliente sits next to my Gail Joseph cane

I second what Shawnette said....I only have 96 for beadmaking.

The wispy white makes an amazing, ethereal base for transparent frits, and the clear may not actually be clear; hold it up to the light and see if there are subtle iridescent flecks inside. If so, that stuff is stunning over a dark base.

I love it for everything! Hollows for sure, the veiling really shows off that way. Wrap it over clear, do single-layer spirals over an opaque or over a metal (palladium is great for this). Pull down the more intense colors into stringer for really delicate lacy lines.

Sadly (very, very sadly) Caliente is no longer being made. BUT Gail at GGGlass is still making veiled cane, and it's wonderful!
