OMG, you all. I am sooo sorry I did not see this post to reply. I posted these a little bit ago and then life got busy. I would sure love to do a tutorial if anybody were to be interested. If any of you are on facebook, you can add me (Sandra Quiring) and I'll accept you as a friend and we can yack some more about this. What a wonderful end to my day to see the compliments you all had made. Thanks again and hope all is having a great holiday season. lol... FiredDesires.... bead porno... You crack me up. There are more pics on my facebook page. Long story short, my credit card got stolen and I could not get a new one reissued in time to pay for my website - and they cut me off.... SO, at some point, I will have to try and do another website..... sigh

I was going to suggest too the same that kmd did... buy stickers, or use the hole punch... well, the holes that get cut off, and stack them in patterns. Then just trace back. While it might not be the exact way your glass is going to behave, it will give you the idea of dot replacement to create some patterns. Have fun, most wonderful things come as a surprise!

Just a suggestion, learn how to do paper marbeling or it's fancier cousin, Ebru.
It'll give you some idea of how things look when colors flow into each other.

Whoa! I watched that link on Ebru and that was amazing!!! I kept wondering what the guy was going to do with all that paint floating on the water. That was like magic when he lifted up the paper or canvas and pulled the picture right off the surface of the water!!!

You remember the inside covers of the old books, the ones with marbled images? Thats how they are done too, I did some book binding in art school, and we did all those ourselves too, it is ton of fun... and mess!

PIA KAVEN, you are absolutely brilliant! lol I worked for 4 hours one day making step-by-step beads. I have a couple more to make. My eyesight has gone a bit on the fritz for me (need stronger glasses AGAIN), so I am having a heck of a time getting the detail that I want for the tutorial. Bear with me - I'll git-er-done soon I hope
Thank all of you for showing such interest in these beads. I stumbled upon them accidentally while playing at the torch.

Oh wow... I think you guys have mistaken me for someone else... I used lots of dots in the past, but mainly just stacked, and variations of them. I don't think I have posted anywhere my old work, but you can see some of my old dot beads in my profile. There's an album you can browse, but it is all old work and haven't been updated for ages! Those beads just happen to be really simple.

Esantos15, thank you so much for your kind words, I am totally blushing here!
Sandy, murrinis are easy, don't over heat them, work slowly until you figure out how it works for you, and you'll be a pro in no time!

I actually have murrini cookbook, it is not exactly about applying murrinis, it is more about the recipes, how to make murrini. I second the tutorials on YouTube, you will find lots of tutorials there, and once you know how to apply them, you will most likely wanna learn to make your own. That's when my tutorial will be more help.
I actually change my technique depending on a murrini, and I can explain it to you once I'm not on my phone. typing on iPhone can be painful!
I don't want to hi jack the thread... Sorry
