Default Acorns

I have an idea brewing in my head, but I need some acorns to make my idea work. Anyone in an area that has acorn willing to send me some? I'll pay shipping.

With or without the caps still on or just the caps??

Let me see what is laying around the front yard. Our neighbor's oak seems to produce a ton. Our oak ... not so much.

Ours are mostly crushed now since they have been on the ground for a while.

There is some oak variety I saw in Austin that has the most amazing huge acorns, as big as lemons.

How many?? There are still a few of those laying around intact!! Most are gone .. too late in the season. And I'm thinking my oak must be male because it didn't seem to have any laying under it (we don't clean them up but leave them for the deer). Neighbor picks most of his up and gets rid of them.

Okay ... here is what I just gathered.

If you are in the U.S. no worries on the shipping. If you are not in RAOGK ... PM me your address and I can pop them in the mail Tuesday ... heading out to studio now to try to get some play time in.

They aren't very pretty anymore from being on the ground for a while. If you want to wait and getting prettier ones, I totally understand.

At one of our stops with our business I remember seeing huge acorns recently. They were so different I picked one up to show my hubby. We joked how the squirrels were surely fat and happy in the area. Can't remember exactly which stop we were at. I'll keep you in mind and pick up a few handfuls if I come across them again. Ask DH if he remembers where as well. We usually hit the same areas every week or two. Let's see what you're making.

I know I gathered some up for someone last year maybe? She was making caps for her acorn beads, but before I got them mailed she got others, and I am not sure what I did with them. I can look though if you want.

Awesome, yes please. More means more options. I am super excited about this. I actually have several ideas that incorporate acorns.

Our burr oaks make those huge acorns ya'll are talking about. Have no idea if there's any caps left, I'm pretty sure the acorns are gone since the squirrels hit those first. When it gets warmer next week, I'll scout and see.

Thanks. I am actually leaning more toward medium to small ones.

No problem, I'm sure the squirrels will be just fine with that.
