Default Glass with high silver content

Hi,
I was wondering what glass colors are high in silver content but aren't the usual fancy silver glass like Double Helix, Precision etc....can anyone confirm that Dark Silver Plum is one? Any others?

Thanks,
Shauna

Effetre released silver glass that is wonderful for bases to other silvers. Alone they are kind of muddy.

Reichenbach iris colors I think.

What are you looking for the glass to do? For example, CIM StoneGround, Canyon De chelly have high silver content and strike, but do not result in the variety of colors you might expect from DH or Striking Color glass. The Effetre Silver Plums do not contain silver; they use other metals to achieve their reactions; Effetre Metallic Black also does the same.

I was just curious so that I can make sure I use them to their best advantage! I have CIM Canyon De Chelly but may not be using it properly for a reaction.

Thanks so much,
Shauna

Dark Silver Plum does not have silver in it. The silver color comes from manganese that comes out on the surface under oxidizing conditions. It looks like silver, hence the name, but it's not a true 'silver glass'.

The Kugler and Reichenbach iris colors all have silver, but mostly just go metallic when reduced.

Check Messy's page on Canyon deChelly: http://www.creationismessy.com/color.aspx?id=6 . Some folks get interesting colors, others don't (like me!). I have more success with Stone Ground. Both have great reactions with DH, Precision, TAG and other silver glasses of that ilk.

Some of the Lauscha colors also have a high silver content: Nuclear Brownie/Silver Buckhorn, Caramello, SuperNova, Blueberry for example.

HTH!

I have a number of Zimmerman silver and metallic colors and I was wondering if anyone had experience and feedback on their results they would care to share...

Which colors would those in question be?

Reichenbach silver brown and dark silver brown give some interesting effects. Not sure of it is silver indeed, but pretty cool glass, at a much lower price than the fancy glass.
