Beginner Glass Blowing Part 1 -

Come learn the basics of glass blowing at the torch. Using a GTT phantom torch and clear borosilicate tubing you will learn to manipulate glass in the torch flame, which is also known as flameworking. From there you will learn to blow out ornaments, jars and a small bottle. Lecture includes, safety instruction, flame adjustments, heat control and proper hand positions. Each student will learn to use all the necessary tools for glassblowing; such as, cup shears, diamond shears, flaring tools, tweezers and punty. Instructor demos with plenty of hands on practice make up this fun filled class. This class encompasses manipulating hollow shapes and forms.

No glassblowing skill required. Beginners Welcome!

Beginner Glass Blowing Part 2 -

In this class you will learn to prepare you own colored tubing. Then with this prepared material, you will create a bottle, a jar or an ornament. Each student will get hands on instruction with all the necessary glassblowing tools; such as, cup shears, diamond shear, flaring tools, tweezers and punty. This class starts the student on his or her journey in using color in creating beautiful hollow forms. Other color techniques such as trailing, coil potting, encalmo, and montage are discussed. This class encompasses manipulating hollow shapes and forms. Beginner glass blowing skills required.
