Default Silk Ribbon for Lampworked Beads

Hi! I am making some lampwork beaded jewelry for a friend that is allergic to metals...so thinking silk ribbons. My problems...there are many kinds of silk ribbons available. Does anyone have a favorite type, source etc? I really like the hand-dyed look. And looking for navy blue, at least to start. I really like this look so may be getting more into it if I can find a source and type that I prefer. I have also thought of doing the dying myself as I have done some shibori scarves. What is your opinion???

I have some in my etsy shop, and I have the chinese knot cords too. They are a great non metal option.
