Measuring the length of Curved Beads
Sometimes you need to make a bracelet exactly 7-1/2" long and you want to use some curved tube beads. But you're not sure how long they measure because they're curved. Well, here's a quick tip I'd like to share with you on how to quickly measure them. All you need is some masking tape and a ruler and of course a curved bead. Take your bead and tape it straight down the middle of a piece of masking tape then cut the tape at the edges. Remove the tape from the bead and then tape it to your ruler. TADAH! There's your exact measurement. Here's some pics.

This is a great idea! One suggestion though You might want to do that on the inside curve of the bead, the inside is smaller curve than outside and the inside is what will fit against the skin.

Good idea. Now if I could just find some basic curved beads I've got the glass beads waiting to go in them. The ones I find are too small for what I want (in length and curve).
If I hadn't sold the bracelet with the only set I had (bought from Dean) I'd use your tip to measure them.

Good idea, but you could also shove a piece of wire through the bead and watch for the inserted end to start to come out. Mark the wire (or just hold it with your fingertips to mark it) that is right at the hole about to go in, take the wire out and measure the wire. This should be more accurate as it's measuring the real path the wire is taking. Just a thought...
