Default Newb please help before I blow myself up

Hi I am using a Carlisle bench burner, everytime I go to turn the tourch off I get a loud pop noise, I'm told that by doing this I could potentially blow myself up. What am I doing wrong? I turn off the outer propane and the outer oxy first then the inner oxy off and then when I turn the inner propane off I get the pop. Please help before I blow myself up. Thank you. Aaron

POOP.....

Propane on, Oxygen on, Oxygen off, Propane off... Outer fire...

Propane on, Oxygen on, Oxygen off, Propane off... Inner fire...

It's the same sequence for each flame (fire) ...

You are not really going to blow yourself up its just a micro explosion sort of a precursor to a possible flashback...........

Most likely cause is that you have the oxy valve cracked open a bit when lighting.

As the POOP should be followed, I can tell you from many years of Carlisle experience that those suckers pop!! At first it'll make ya flinch, then it's just part of your day. It seems even if you're carefully turning off your torch it will happen from time to time. You're fine, it won't hurt ya.

my minor/midrange often has a loud 'POP' when I turn on the oxy.
