Default Reich Pearl Pink vs Mystic Pink

Does anyone find that the colors are different, and do you have any photos of sample beads to show?

For me, once they're made into beads, the color difference was indistinguishable. Then I noticed they had the same stock number on the invoice, only the pearl pink had an S after the number. S for special?

This is definitely not a complaint, just a question. I now have twice as much glorious pink shampoo-ey glass to play with.

Sorry for the photo quality - shaky hands, cloudy day, other various excuses...

Nope. Not a clue.

But those sure are luscious colors!

I have both and also see no big difference between the colours.

The two to the left were made from Mystic and one to the right is Pearl, all annealed.

The major difference is more striation in the beads made from Mystic, the colour itself is pretty much the same.

Thanks for the photo, Katia. I've made another dozen or two, and see no significant differences. The colors are gorgeous and haven't livered up at all or devitrified either. I seem to be hitting a pink streak going into late summer, and am also loving mystic violet.

Cheri, never mind, it seems all mystic colours are great (I do not have all of them yet but I like all Reich glass so far). Mystic red is nice red to work with.

For pink colors (if you want more pinks) you can also look at CIM Gellys Sty, Blush and Roze quarts.

Huh. My batch of pearl pink is much lighter than my mystic pink. I got them both a few years ago, though.

Lori, i received mine in May this year, rods are a bit different (not a lot but pearl ones are lighter). The ready beads also have slight but visible difference in shade. Annealed - ooops - the same Ordered from a german store, the guys are extremely accurate about orders, so i think this is a batch issue. I remember a thread about reich colors and mystic coral and red were very close, may be now it is time for pinks... But i like this shade anyway

I bought mine about a year ago. In cane form, the Mystic is a strong pink transparent; the pearl is a much paler translucent color, edging towards opaque. In subsequent attempts since my first post in this thread, I've fiddled with how long they've been in the flame, and how many times I've struck the beads. I may have difficulty matching 2 beads in color and opaqueness, but every one has been pretty. I love variety!

These 2 were made at the same time on the same mandrel, both mystic pink, but one (the lighter pink) got a lot more heat (drippy) and re-heating time.
