Default Tablets and small computers used for camera

old now, eyes going, can't see in the view finder or the screen in my "camera" well enough to see if they are in focus until i download, pain in the butt. soooooooo, i think i need to use a notebook/tablet to take photos since the screens are so big i can see if they are in focus as i work. i understand that most of these devices have the ability to add a "close up lens" on top of the existing lens, yes?? is anybody successfully using one of these devices as their camera for photographing glass? i would really appreciate any recommendation and reviews of equipment. happy holidays, Sara

I use my iPad mini, ONLY complaint I have, and it is a big one is that it seems to have a hard time getting a lot of the colors right. Pinks are washed out, and many of the blues look grey. It just doesn't catch the vibrancy and sparkle of glass.

Now, this is a 4 year old iPad mini, and I imagine newer models have better cameras. But it is something to test. Maybe take a color wheel with you, and take some pictures of it, and compare, before you buy.

The camera on my iPhone 6 is excellent for anything except low light situations. I hear the newest iPhones have even better cameras. The newest iPads should have the newest cameras. Plus the displays are super sharp.
