Default Reactions. Large vs. small?

Has anyone found that striking/reducing, coaxing colors out of a bead, seems to be easier working a large bead rather than a small?

I have tried to make beads out of lots of silver/ reactive colors, and I fail horribly unless they are 10mm or larger.

Any success stories out there?

Also, I seem to also have better luck with thinner shards vs. the thick ones.

I agree on the thinner shards is better part. I dunno about the rest, I think the timing probably works different, probably quicker, but it would also depend on the glass. I see lots of smaller beads with reduction glass, so I know it can be done.

Maybe check your lighting? That seems to be the #1 thing that can easily improve your success with tricky glass like that. It's too hard to eyeball the changes otherwise.
