From my standpoint, you need to calculate your cfm's from the square footage of your workspace. Then, you need to provide yourself with enough "make up" air to replace what you're venting out, so as not to create a vacuum in your space.
Mike or someone in the "Safety" section will have a much better answer for you, and an equation to calculate how many cfm's you need on your exhaust.
