ventilation for a newbie

I hope I post this message right as this is my first time on LE.
I want to install an exhaust system directly behind my minor torch. I have to put the duct work up to my left with a few turns and go to a vent that exists on a wall across my garage ceiling approx. 25 feet away. I don't want a hood system over my head but want to draw the fumes immediatly through the opening behind my torch. Is 600cfm enough?

You'll probably get a quicker response there.
From my standpoint, you need to calculate your cfm's from the square footage of your workspace. Then, you need to provide yourself with enough "make up" air to replace what you're venting out, so as not to create a vacuum in your space.

Mike or someone in the "Safety" section will have a much better answer for you, and an equation to calculate how many cfm's you need on your exhaust.
