Default Need a source for boro clear in Texas.

Just found out that shipping fees per case for boro clear are about $1.00 lb. Ouch. So, the shipping on my order of 4 cases of kimble Kimax is $150.

Can anyone recommend a place within a couple of hours of Austin, TX where I can drive down and pick it up at a decent price and save me some $$$?

Here is what I want to get: 1 case 19mm Heavy wall tubing, 1 case 26mm heavy wall tubing, 1 case rod assortment 3mm-11mm, 1 case 25.4mm rod.

Thanks,

Eric

OK, how about any other source that has a good price on cases of boro that will make up for shipping fees?

Dang Eric, the only place I can think of that sells boro rods is Vetro Glassblowing in Grapevine. I don't know if they have tubing though.

It's probably too far of a drive, but I guess it never hurts to call and ask.
Their website is www.vetroartglass.com

Good luck!!!

Yea, shipping sucks on cases of boro!! I ordered 4 cases a month ago. the shipping was 142.00!!(212 lbs) Almost enough to buy another case!!! Still a lot cheaper than buying by the piece!! A lot of the shipping price is because every shipper charges for oversize to ship long boxes. And the boxes have to be long so the seller can over-pack the crap out of the case to keep the gorillas that work for the shippers from breaking the glass!
I'm 2 hrs north of St Louis, but have not been able to find a seller of boro cases there. The next nearest is 6 hrs. So pay through the nose for shipping I will!!
