Default Navy blue 104 glass

I am looking for a Navy blue 104 glass. I have the Moretti blues but they seem too bright. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi, Lisa,

Probably not much help if you don't live near a glass supplier, but when I want true navy I buy it in person - and, when I find it, I buy a BUNCH. Like most of the Moretti glass, the batches vary greatly, and occasionally the dark lapis is really a navy blue....

Transparent or Pastel?

Cobalt is a nice navy blue transparent. Mosaic Blue might be a good choice also.

Maybe you will find something you like on this chart if you are interested in mixing your own colors. You may have to experiment alot.

Thank you everyone. I am looking for a pastel and I'll check out link. Maybe mixing my own might be my best option since Ohio isn't a hot spot for glass suppliers.

Cim Lapis maybe, although that is more of a denim blue.

I'd think Lauscha Steel Blue would do the trick

Yes, I was going to suggest one of the Lauscha colours, but I can't recall which one. May have indeed been Steel Blue. It looks quite navy in real life.

Yes, it can look paler too but it actually depends on how you cook it. When I make plain spacers with it it usually comes out dark, like this

and that's what I call navy blue, but I might be alone on that one!

Vetrofond Blue Cobalt Night is the darkest blue I've encountered. It is listed as a transparent, but it's dark and looks like a dense blue. Frantz has it in stock:

Diane, that does look like navy. Getting ready to place an order so might get a 1/4 pound of that and a 1/4 of Lauscha Steel Blue.

I would love to try enamels, but I'm not permitting myself anything new. I'm a bit of "i've gotta try that" junky. People LOVE my yard sales!!!
