Default 10,000 Beads, 10,000 People 1 work of art...

The Bead Goes on; 10,000 beads , 10,000 people 1 work of art is a community art project organized by the Toledo Museum of art consisting of beads made from a variety of media that will be assembled to create a bead curtain. The goal is for 10,000 hand made beads to be contributed by artists, enthusiasts, community members, kids and adults alike.

Guidelines for Exhibition Information
Drop of dates april 2009- october 2010 Please note beads contributed to the curtain will not be returned.

Important exhibition info
Artwork size restrictions: Due to the size limitations of the bead curtain, there will be a size restriction on all beads exhibited all work is to not exceed 1.5x1.5" the hole size should be a minimum of 3/32 across. These size restrictions will be strongly enforced at drop off.

Maximum number of pieces accepted: Due to size limitations of the final piece there will be a cap of 3 pieces accepted from each artist/participant.

Artwork restrictions
Beads consisting in whole or in part of perishable materals, living organisms, liquids, materials covered by the endangered species act, feathers of any kind or deteriorating/insect infested or untreated wood will not be admitted into the exhibition. All materials are subject to approval by the TMA staff.

Materials accepted include but are not limited to glass, pottery, metal, polymer clay, felt and painted wood (kiln fired only). No paper beads will be accepted.

Only beads created or decorated by the creator will be accepted. Please do not submit store bought beads.

The museum reserves the right to no display any bead that has been submitted.

Please note that beads contributed to the curtain will not be returned
