the ones that say free!

Art Glass East has a $75.00 min and Frantz $100 min when he runs a free shipping sale.

Glass is heavy and most charge pretty close to actual shipping charges I believe. Free shipping is great but if you can't afford or just don't want to buy enough to qualify for free shipping you will just have to bite the bullet and pay the shipping. I don't think many vendors are trying to make money on the shipping. I shop depending more on what I need at the time and who carries it. Howaco is great if you only want a couple of rods of any color. Frantz seems to have colors no one else has. I buy accordingly.

I would think that is going to be a crap shoot according to where you live and where the vendor is.

Most of us save up to make a large enough buy to qualify for free shipping.

When you think about it, moving anything anywhere costs for the time of the people doing the work of moving from place to place.
The weight of the stuff being moved (up to a limit) really doesn't make much difference.

And every company is going to try to keep the costs down as low as they can and will run specials when they can to get us to try their store.

So the answer to your question is " There is not one place with the best prices on shipping."

Shopping around is your only option and shopping often is the only way to get a feel for what is current and what a great deal is.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Yeah, I think I'll have to save to qualify for free shipping. I don't want to pay 7+ bucks for a book of silver foil.
Thanks all!

Thanks all!
I get my foil from Amy on etsy, and shipping is only $2.40. You'll get it lightning fast too!

Made me think, I just ordered from Olympic glass, shipping was about $15.00 which is probably their normal rate until about 10 lbs or so? I don't suppose they can do it cheaper and that is probably close then to the regular shipping price of other vendors.

Arrow Springs has shipping at $7.00 for purchases over $50.00 but they mostly do tools and frit now, and some specialty glass.

www.Howacoglass.com has good rates on shipping. Fabulous customer service, also.

Frantz has called me a couple of times to tell me there's a less expensive shipping option than the one I selected and ask if I want that, instead.
