Default Need background suggestions

I am looking for a slightly reflective neutral gray background for my beads. Anyone have a suggestion or a link to something that might work?

Thinking out loud here: A semi-matte ceramic tile? You might go to Home Depot or Lowe's and snoop around. They may give out free samples.

- A piece of slate roof tile? Too matte? Maybe if you sprayed it with semi-gloss clear paint to shine it up a bit.

- A piece of frosted glass backed with a neutral gray card? Too matte? What about if it was laid over a mirror? I wonder how that would look.

- A piece of vinyl or water-resistant wallpaper? The kind they use in kitchens and bathrooms might be "slightly reflective".

- A piece of plastic vellum (the kind architects and engineers use for drawings) over a neutral gray card?

- A sheet of clear plexiglass that's been rubbed up a bit with a scrubber pad to take some of the shine off? Over a gray card.

- The bottom (or back) of a non-stick baking pan? Some of them that are touted as non-stick have a real nice semi-gloss brushed aluminum looking finish.

- What about taking a piece of semi-gloss photographic paper, putting it in your ink jet printer and copying on to it a standard gray card?

Thanks Jan! Those are some fantastic suggestions! I am definitely going to try a couple of them. I have some non-glare picture frame glass and a gradient gray background. I never thought about putting them together. Awesome ideas!!!

Oh and that non-stick baking pan idea is genius!

My pleasure! I was just looking around my house with the idea of "slightly reflective neutral gray" in mind.

Glad I could help joggle your own ideas loose!

Here's the first try with a gradient background under non-glare glass. I think it is pretty close to what I was looking for!!!

I printed out my own gradient paper, by the way. Pretty cool (and cheap)!

Before - on backlit white background. I think it is a bit overexposed...

After - on grey background under anti-glare glass.

I should mention these are different beads that I remade.
