Default Silver Capping Question

I have been copper capping and have had no problems---I started to cap with silver 3/8inches with close to 3/32silver tubing and I have noticed the silver is much softer ---it has even bent in the middle---are there any suggestions on this---should I use silver caps and copper tubing?---any ideas would help---I noticed if I cut the tubing very close -it helped a little bit--I use the Jim Moore machine and love it---Is there something I should do to the tubing---I did put the caps in the tumbler thanks

I was surprised to find you think silver tubing is softer than copper ... it's really the other way around usually (although fine silver is very soft).

However if the wall thickness is thinner (quite possible) it would be more prone to bending in the middle and might therefore seem softer to you?

I don't have the Jim Moore press but do have two other varieties plus the regular hand dapping version so you might find if you post in the silver forum/thread you might get more answers and thoughts on this.
