Cool 104 on a CC Burner

Turning the Propane down to 4 or 5 psi really helped. I still have some vague discoloration, though. I can tell the flame is still not quite right. The bead release is getting burned, and breaking. The O2 is set at 20 psi. Should I turn that down also? What do you all think?

Well, it could be a few more things contributing to your issue:

1. You could have crappy bead release.

2. You could be working too hot.

The oxy pressure doesn't need to be turned down. Work further out in the flame and heat the glass, not the mandrel.

Default New mandrels needed attention

Thanks to LE formum, I discovered the new/old trick of precleaning the mandrels in soap and water. Then buff with steel wool. Then cook in the kiln. Then wipe with alcohol. Thin out the bead release just slightly. Then dip. And use. Viola' it worked. Bead release is no longer burning. Beads are staying attached, and in a workable manner.
It helps to get the flame right, and ask for help.
