Default Chili Pepper Element Replacement?

So, I'm out making beads, and all is right with the world. I have visions of a productive week between Christmas and New Years. I have, I dunno, a few hundred twisties and shards all ready to go.

I put a bead in my kiln and notice that the cheery red glow is no longer present. My kiln is hot, but dark. And I watch was the temperature drops, and drops, and drops. A whole kiln full of beads, pretty much DOA as near as I can tell.

I'm hoping that this is just the element in my Chili Pepper, since the damn thing is barely six months old. If it is the element, anyone have any suggestions for where to get a replacement QUICK? I was really hoping to have a productive next week, but it's looking like the Grinch stole my joy.

Any help is much appreciated -

I would suggest that you read the manual from front to back again. It looks like to me it sounds like maybe the ramp rate is too low. The F/per hour . Try setting it to 3000 that should fire your kiln up real fast.

Did a little more digging - it was a bad relay, which I got locally for $2.50. Easy enough to fix, but annoying that there's no real 'troubleshooting' section in the manual. Still, the folks at JenKiln were very helpful when I got hold of them.

It's a little tough to put everything that could possible go wrong in a manual. But the folks at Jen-Ken ARE really helpful! Paula
