Just Ordered My LYNX!!!
So as the title says. Just placed the order. This thread is a request for fellow lynx users to post some suggestion for setting the flame. This will be my first time using the triple mix. All help will be greatly appreciated.

The instruction manual which covers flame settings is available on the GTT site as a PDF. There is also a You Tube video made by GTT covering flame settings.
Good luck with the new torch.

I just realized through exploring the site that there is a torch setup forum inside this forum. I guess I should have posted this there....My bad.

Love my lynx, hope you are happy with yours, too. I kept my minor too so I can move back and forth between the two if I want. Good luck, and yes, watching a you tube is better than verbal or written instructions any day.

Most important thing is to never run the torch for long periods of time without the blue oxygen valve at least slightly cracked open. That oxygen keeps the torch face cool. Watch the video a few times before lighting the torch and do not be afraid to try varying oxy propane mixes. The versatility is one of the best aspects of this torch. It can be adjusted from tiny pinpoint flames up to large flames with obscene amounts of heat. In my experience once you learn how to work with the triple mix the Lynx is capable of generating more heat than non triple mix torches twice its physical size. Before I got my Mirage I was making 2.5" solid boro marbles on mine. Slow but definitely do able. Also remember that it is a surface mix torch so flame chemistry will vary greatly depending on where you are working within the flame. Like I mentioned to you before they do have a learning curve but once you put the time in you will be thankful you did.

Can't go wrong choosing a Lynx, enjoy! I'm running a scorpion now because I wanted a wider flame using less oxygen, but I can't bring myself to part with my Lynx

True that. Malcolm had it shipped within an hour or two of placing the order. I should have listened to LarryC from the start.

Yup. When I got mine I had the same reaction. You will be surprised by what it can do, though. These are a marvel of engineering and as I said they can generate more heat than some torches twice their size. Enjoy.
