Default A question about ventilation

Hello, I have a ventilation system as you seae in the picture below. When I set it up first it worked and ı didn't smell any gas but nowadays gases that I smell bothers me. Do you think direction of the pipe looks wrong???
Is there any suggestion to use it right. Thanks from now,

Cansu

You may be leaning into the torch concentrating harder and getting your face into the fume zone and breathing in more of it.

Test it with a few plumbers smoke bombs. Put one right up where the torch head is and see if your exhaust is working enough to pull fumes away.

Torch is actually pointed above capture area of duct, and how big is the fan (CFM) on the duct...

have u checked all of your hose connections to you torch for leaks (spray winex on connections when turned on but torch off)? You shouldn't smell gas with or without ventilation.

build a box around your work area with an internal light. the top of the box can be clear plastic so you can see in, but IMHO, i would build the sides out of cement wallboard as it is fire resistant. this box will keep pieces of hot glass falling onto the wood floor or onto the bed to the left, and it will also improve your ventilation. the box should be sealed on all sides except the front and the front face area should be kept as small as possible.

as other people have mentioned, make sure your connections are tight and not leaking using dish washing soap. and i assume your propane is outside.

where does your makeup air come from? your ventilation will not work without it!!!
