Review the comments in "The Dark Room" section of LE for guidance. A lot of good information has been posted.

This post will most likely be moved to the Dark Room for others to comment on.

For beads, it is not necessary to spend that much on a camera. Save your money and spend it on some tools and glass.

I have always used a Nikon Coolpix, and my first one was the 4300 which cost me $400 back in 2003. It had been dropped several times by a clutzy ex, but it continued to work for three years. When it finally died I assumed it was because of being dropped so many times. I replaced it with the model of 2006, the L4 for $159 at Best Buy. I have had this camera almost 8 years and obviously, I have taken a LOT of photos with it. Whenever I need to replace it, I can get the new model for around $100. So cheap these days! You can't beat the Nikon Coolpix as it has a top rated macro lens function, and it is very easy to use. They use AA batteries, so that is convenient.

Here you go, you can order one from Walmart.com and they have a nice selection. Very good customer reviews too. I want one of the bright pink ones!
