We welcome back Master Metalsmith, Ginger Seiple, who will be teaching this two-day workshop May 9-10, 2015. This fun and exciting class is for advanced beginner to intermediate jewelry students... and is designed to increase several metalsmithing skills.
"In this 2-day fast-paced fun-filled workshop you will be using several techniques to create both texture and dimension in metal. Texture will be mainly from etching, and literally thousands of copyright-free designs will be available to choose from to suit the individual aesthetic. These elements can be added to textures you'll obtain from milling and hammering to bring a conceptual image to life."
"And while some pieces are being etched you'll be busy creating dimension using the Hydraulic Press. You'll have the opportunity to create both synclastic and anticlastic, even double anticlastic bracelets. There are about 150 different die shapes in my toolbox to use for pressing shapes, and you are welcome to cut your own die if necessary for a particular design. We'll also explore a few other ways to get dimension quickly. ..."
