Default What can you do with tubes?

Ok, other things like pipes (which I won't make) and the tops of glorious pleated vessels ( which I haven't mastered!) what can you do with hollow tubes? Colored or clear.

Can you insert a solid rod down the middle for instant veiling or encasing? Isn't that risky and shocky?

Please be gentle, remember I am new at this!

Thanks!

you have a few choices with tubes. Marble makers use tubing to do various techniques and make cool marbles like implosions and vortexes. You can "pull points" and then blow them out into xmas ornaments or turn them into goblets. You can also make things like bud vases or sculptural items, perfume bottles, etc and then there are a few that actually take the tubing and turn it into neon lighting.

most tubing is pyrex or boro although they do make 104 coe tubing but I see a lot of posts of "issues" with shocky glass when using 104 tubes....I have yet to successfully use 104 coe "chandelier" tubes. I have a few I bought a while back but they've set under the bench for over 4 years now...I have been trying to figure out how to turn into something without actually torching them since they actually scare me when I put them in the flame......

Ornaments and hanging plaint holders. Pendants and sculpture, ....small jars, tom (menty666) makes really cool pens
With them. and beads I'd be reluctant to do much with any 104 tubing. (Or 90/96). It's big and shocky. It can be hard to keep warm because of the size. Boro all the way on tubing.

i haven't done it yet, but I have plans to cut tubing into varied lengths and put a loop on on end of each tube and make a wind chime. I haven't got all the details figured out in my head yet, but it's still rumbling around in there somewhere,

Thanks to you, too
16-17mm from memory, but I compressed it a few times so I could blow it bigger with the help of some frit.
