Question Respirator ?

I am just starting out in boro and am looking forward to fuming clear glass with silver to make it look yellow/caramel. I want to get a respirator for this. Does anyone here know about respirators? I found this one online, tell me what you think...

Also, is boro glass food safe to eat off of? In case I make goblets, etc.

You want an N-100 or P-100 - refers to the size particulate that it will filter out. That does have P100 in the number - but I can't see any place where actually confirms that. That mask could probably be used with several different "filters". Grainger offers several different "half mask" styles and you can buy the type of filter that you need. Some have a cartridge like the one that you mentioned, and some have a smaller softer changable filter. Mine is like this -

Wendy's right on with this info. I might add that fit of the mask to your face is half the battle. I bought my current mask at ACE hardware because they allowed me to check the fit and pick out the right size to best seal with my face.

I also wear a respirator all of the time and I have several including a nice full face, but I prefer the 3NR 2091 filters for my half mask.

I don't have to try to look around the big plastic cartridges and these are much lighter in weight so the bridge of my nose doesn't get sore... and they are pink! Larry is right they all fit different and I tried the smalls and the large and ended up with a medium. You will know if the fit is right because it just kinda sucks onto your face like an octopus would..LOL You will be able to tell after trying out a few. Airgas let me try me on theirs.

I think mine's the same as Lorraine's in a size small. I use P100 filters and I bought my mask at the welding store where I was able to try it on.

There are pics floating around on Facebook, I think, of me in the mask. I look a bit like Darth Vader.
