Home Depot or Lowe's are the cheapest places that I have found. Also local hardware stores usually carry it.

I like to buy from Beaducation.com They carry 10 gauge through 28 gauge copper wire and have all kinds of wonderful tools.

Thanks. I get all my wire at Ace Hardware but they don't carry any GA lower than 18.

We carry several gauges of solid copper wire by the foot. I love to make jumprings out of heavy gauge wire and then hammer them flat before soldering.

I buy my wire at RIO Grande.
It costs a tad more (still a steal) and it comes
neatly wound on spools. The quality is unmatched -
it's what I call "jewelry grade" copper. I have less problems
with it tarnishing than with the wire I get elsewhere.
I also buy my odd-shaped wire from Brandywine. They have
square and 1/2 round copper there (very hard to find elsewhere).

I buy from Rio Grande, too. I like the quality and the packaging. For big sizes (10,12,14g) and a hard to find size (22g), I purchase from fundametals.net

I get my larger sizes from the hardware store and small sizes from craft stores.

We also just started to make twisted copper wire. It is available by the foot.
