Aurora 2 and some odd lots
Same beads, one picture sharper, one lighter. I love the "bruised eye" effect aurora 2 gives me. They're stacked dots, poked and clear on top.
These are on gonzo grape 2, robin's egg (the pretty cyan-like one), gold purple, pinkaliscious, and periwinkle. The second from the left is robin's egg, trans turquoise blue, robins egg, aurora 2, poke and clear, and the purple one in the middle is gold purple, trans royal purple, then the aurora and clear.
The biggest one is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch wide, 5/8 inch diameter.
Twistie of yellow ochre/goldenrod, pinkaliscious, black, aurora 2, on opaque bluestone and soft teal.

Lisa it looks like there is a bit of reaction in the 3rd poke eyed bead? Is that your gold purple base? Nice dark line around that aurora 2.
I have been playing with the ochre/goldenrod too. I like that color.
I used some val cox silver lake frit on creamsicle and got a really pretty purple cast on a flower I made. I will try to get a pic.

Sadly, no, not a reaction line, one of the transparent purples ... I've been playing with opaque base, then a transparent, then aurora, which gives me a darker line, and usually the aurora won't overflow/go to the edge of the underlying dot. Sometimes it's opaque, trans, opaque, THEN aurora ... depends on my patience level!

Hi Nana - The auroras are odd lot colors, which means they aren't part of the regular stock, it's experiments they've played around with. They sell them in 1-pound lots, if you get on their e-mailing list you'll get the first-Tuesday-of-the-month notices of the new colors. You can order them directly from Bullseye over the phone, or an excellent source for them by the rod is Bridgetown Glass --

So far there's a dark aurora, aurora, and aurora 2. Good luck, and hope you enjoy working with the BE!

Thaks for the pictures and recipes Lisa!
Thanks for the info on the striking red. I'll try harder to get it to strike next time.
This is turning into a great thread!
