Exclamation aarrgghh another question....

Ok so I am going to hook up my Nortel minor. I bought everything from Frantz artglass......so i got the propane regulator and the oxygen regulator. the back up arrestors and the hoses. but i am unsure how to hook these up.

how do i hook up the regulator to my natural gas from my house?
how do i use the regulator?
did i need to even get the oxygen regulator for my oxygen concentrator?
and if i do need it how do i use it?

also to help my BF out he has asked for anyone and everyone to post pictures of there gas and oxygen set up

please help

The hook up is not complicated. IT just has to be done with good mechanical connections.

First, you do not need the oxygen regulator when using a concentrator. And you dont need the fuel regulator when tapping into residential natural gas system.

Usually at meter where gas comes into residence there is regulator on the line that is set to 1/4 to 1/2 psi ( 7 to 14 IW (inches water)). So pressure is already regulated for you.

A flashback arrestor is not going to help you because it will probably block your gas flow because there is not enough "line" pressure to over come the springs (internal) that control the internal check valve so it will not "open".

What you DO need it good quality GAS shut off valve at end of metallic piping and then some fittings to connect left-hand thread gas supply hose (red) to the outlet end of the "shut off" valve...

Grade "T" hose is approved for all fuels.

Grade "R" hose is acetylene only.

I went to home depot and they have different shut off valves and Connectors based on "appliance size" Small , med , large.

I'm thinking large....but can someone help?

Thanks, Tam

Generally all the plumbing should be 1/2 or 3/4 pipe sizes ( actually 1/2 inch is probably large enough)... The very last reducer/bushing will determine the "size" it has to be to mate the outlet of valve to the connector that hose mates with ('B" fitting)...

I seriously doubt HD will have proper connector with left-hand thread fitting to connect to fuel hose.

Special two-ended fitting in picture is like this...
